About this notice

This privacy notice explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data; and also the rights you have with regards to that data. This notice applies to the processing of your personal data for the duration of the project of the proposed development of land known as Dove Lane, in Bristol.

Who we are

Places for People is the trading name adopted by Places for People Homes Limited, our legal entity.
We are the Data Controller of the personal data processed. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we collect, use and store your personal data. Please refer to Places for People’s main privacy notice for further information on how they process personal data for other purposes.

Information we collect

Places for People collects personal data about you when you partake in this public consultation.

We collect, store and use the following categories of personal data:

  • Name-Contact Information (Email and Address)
  • Personal opinions contained within feedback comments that depending on content could be used to identify you an as individual
  • Demographic and lifestyle information (which will be anonymised when processing)
  • Images and videos that might be able to identify you as an individual

How we process your information

We use the personal data stated above for the following purposes:

  • To understand the public view regarding the proposed development and to use feedback to inform the development of the scheme; and
  • To help us understand who is responding to our consultation and their potential needs from the development.
  • To keep you informed about the consultation

What lawful basis do we have to process your personal data?

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. This is called the lawful basis. In regards to the above purposes, we rely on the following lawful basis:

Who is the information shared with?

The information collected at part of this public consultation is shared with the following parties;

  • Meeting Place – a communications agency with who we are working with during the consultation and planning process.
  • Places for People – Placemaking and Regeneration division – the project team driving the design and planning process for the site.

Some of these third parties act as a “Data Controller”. For more information on how these organisations process your personal data, please read their own privacy notices.

Where is your personal data stored and processed?

All personal data collected is stored and processed within the United Kingdom.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Your data will be kept for the duration of this scheme progressing through planning and for up to one year after the signing of the S106 agreement so that, if necessary, we can update you with key information following any grant of planning consent.

For the purposes of security all paper records will be destroyed as soon as they have been uploaded digitally onto our systems, which are all password protected.

Your rights

Under data protection legislation, in certain circumstances you have the following rights over the processing of your personal data as described in this notice:

  • right of access to personal data;
  • right to correction or rectification;
  • right to request deletion; and
  • right to data portability

Places for People must respond to a request to exercise these rights within one month. If you would like to submit a request, please contact the data protection officer.
